Just back a kilometre or two from popular Scarborough Beach and about 11km north-west of Perth's CBD, the pleasant little suburb of Doubleview is central to many of Perth's most popular weekend attractions.

First and foremost, perhaps, is the beach down the road - home to the America's Cup-inspired Observation City. But just as close, back toward Perth, is the lovely and serene Herdsman Lake and its pleasant recreational areas - just perfect for the weekend picnic or barbecue.

Wembley Downs Golf course, Bold Park, and Perry Lakes - all contained within one gigantic, green reserve - are just minutes away to the south of Doubleview.

Doubleview has a couple of interesting churches, too. For example, it is home to one of the few Chinese Christian Churches in Australia, on the corner of Flamborough Street and Sackville Terrace, while the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Angelico Street has a pipe organ that once pounded out raunchier music at the less-than-holy Princess Theatre in Fremantle.
