Fish Creek

A small, picturesque township at the centre of a rich farming community, Fish Creek is one of the gateways to the spectacular Wilson's Promontory National Park access road.

Fish Creek is 40km from the Prom, as Gippsland's most popular park is known. The park includes camping sites at Tidal River and 80km of walking tracks which skirt beaches, granite outcrops. In late winter and spring, the park comes alive with masses of wildflower displays.

The town is home to a school of talented artists and craftsmen whose work is displayed at several locations in the village. Worth a visit, too, are the old butter factory, Fish Tales second-hand bookshop, bric-a-brac stores and two new galleries - Gecko Gallery and the Celia Rosser Gallery & Banksia Cafe.

The Rock and Gem Museum houses a fine collection of fossils and semi-precious gemstones. Visitors can get into the swing of things with a night out in the Fishy Pub which provides quality meals and entertainment.
