8 Hour Fleurieu Peninsula
The Fleurieu Peninsula is an escape from the mundane. Much of the charm of this area stems from the preservation of its heritage. Stately parks and wide streets are the core of activity, while ornate buildings meticulously preserved, proudly stand. As a hub for the whaling and cargo ships during the 1800's, the area was a busy port with river boats providing the vital transport services inland via the Murray River. Today the Fleurieu Peninsula stands as hosts peaceful little coastal hamlets and towns with great pubs, pristine bush land and conservation parks, a veritable zoo of natural wildlife, and a long, rugged coastline with sandy beaches and towering headlands, that provides a bounty for fishermen and exciting opportunities for surfers and scuba divers.
