Port Clinton

Port Clinton is the northern most town on the east coast of Yorke Peninsula, with wide sandy beaches that are perfect for crabbing, fishing and relaxing.

Situated 125 kilometres from Adelaide, it is one of those small seaside towns that most people warm to on sight.

Surrounded by a conservation park and mangroves, Port Clinton is rich in birdlife and the perfect location to see nature's wonders. The mangroves help keep the marine life cycles turning, providing plenty of shelter and making it the perfect nursery for fish.

Ardrossan Lookout


The Ardrossan Lookout is located approximately 5 kms south of Ardrossan on the right. From here you can view the Dolomite Mine to the west and Gulf St Vincent and Yorke Peninsula to the East. Black Point is the southern most area that can be seen. On a clear day it is possible to see across the gulf to Adelaide Hills.

Parara Whale Memorial


Approximately 5 kms south of Ardrossan there is a memorial constructed in memory of 7 whales which beached themselves in 2014.
The Arrium Mine and the local school children where involved. Dolomite rocks from the mine were used and the children named the whales. A plaque was placed on each rock telling the name chosen, whale type and weight.

Ardrossan National Trust Museum


The Ardrossan Museum is located in Ardrossan on Yorke Peninsula S.A and is housed in part of the Clarence H Smith factory . The Clarence H Smith factory is famous for inventing the StumpJump Plough which was used extensively in clearing farming areas. The Museum also houses other ploughs and machinery used in the farming industry.

There is also a general Museum including but not limited to dolls, photography, kitchenware, old irons, semaphore flags, telephones plus much more.

The Zanoni Wreck


The Zanoni is a shipwreck which is approximately 10 nautical miles south east of Ardrossan. Many of the artifacts retrieved from the wreck can now be viewed at the Ardrossan Museum. The wreck is in 18 metres of water ona barren sea bed. A protected Zone of 550 metres has been set up around the shipwreck.

Yorke Peninsula Art Exhibition Opening Night


The Opening Night of the Yorke Peninsula Art Exhibition will be held at the Ardrossan Town Hall on Wednesday 8th April.

Winners of each award and category will be announced, and guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and purchase paintings.

Official souvenir programs will be available for purchase. Savouries and refreshments will also be available.

Yorke Peninsula Art Exhibition


Yorke Peninsula Art Exhibition will celebrating its 11th year as a major cultural event in 2020. The exhibition is held on the beautiful and iconic Yorke Peninsula in South Australia.

Ardrossan Information Outlet is open seven days a week. They have a good variety of information on destinations around the Yorke Peninsula and South Australia. They also have souvenirs and local art, craft and produce for sale. Come in and browse or ask the friendly volunteers and staff for assistance.

The outlet is open: 7 days a week from 10.00am til 4.00pm including Public Holidays.
