Mortdale

This pleasant, leafy suburb of Mortdale is on the Cronulla-Sutherland railway line down Hurstville way in Sydney's south-west, about 17km from the CBD. Mortdale, and its neighbouring suburbs of Oatley, Hurstville Grove and Connells Point, which all roll down to some of the most attractive reaches of the wide Georges River, represent prized real estate these days. After all, not only is this area physically attractive, but the important commercial and retail centre of Hurstville is just minutes away and only 10km or so from Sydney International Airport. The Georges River itself, which empties into Botany Bay just a few kilometres south of Mortdale, offers great fishing, sailing and boating all the way out through the bay entrance and into the South Pacific Ocean. Mortdale is connected directly to the Sydney CBM by the southern line on the metropolitan railway network. Mortdale is part of the Kogarah Municipal Council.
